Diann Davisson is a clinical chaplain and a retired diplomate Supervisor for the CPE program founded by Rev. Karyn Packard at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital in Southern California.
Diann brings a strong inter-faith background to her chaplaincy as a Religious Science Minister. She was ordained in 2000 and accepted a formal letter of call from her home church in Huntington Beach as an Assistant Minster while at the same time starting to offer CPE. Chaplaincy has been Diann’s calling from the time her identical twin sister died of an inoperable brain tumor at the age of 24 when she knew that she wanted to offer compassion and empathy to others in need.
After her retirement Rev. Diann moved with her wife of 43 years to California’s Central Coast where they enjoy surfing, hiking, and their newest passion for pickle ball. In her younger years, Diann was a world adventure traveler hiking to the base camp of Mt Everest, sitting with the mountain gorillas in the jungles of Rwanda, hiking the ancient Inca trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu in Peru, and riding waves over the coral reefs in Fiji.
Most recently Diann has been in the process of starting a community based CPE/T training center in the San Luis Obispo area. She has served as a convener in several CPSP chapters.
